Options in New Document
Brief
description of the options in the New Document dialog box is as follows:
Name: Allow
you to provide an appropriate name to a new illustrator document. By default,
illustrator assigns the name Untitled-1 to a new document.

Profile:
Selects built-in dimensions and color mode for a new document. You can select a
build-in profile for the document from the Profile drop-down list. The dimension,
resolution and color mode of a document vary from one profile to the other. If
none of the profile satisfies the requirement, you can select the Custom option
from the Profile drop-down list and specify your own values.
Number of
Artboards: Sets the number of artboards while creating a new document. The buttons
to the right of the Number of Artboards spin box control the positioning of artboards
in relation to each other.
Size: Defines
the height and width of a new document. You can either select standard preset dimensions, such as Letter or Legal or specify custom dimensions.
Width: Allows
you to specify a custom width value for a new document in one of these six
units, namely: Pixels, Inches, Centimeters, Millimeters, Points, and Picas.
Height:
Allows you to specify a custom height value for a new document in one of the
units selected in the Units drop-down list.
Units: Allows
you to select the unit of measurement for a new document. You can select
Pixels, Inches, Centimeters, Millimeters, Points, and Picas in the Units drop-down list.

Orientation:
Allows you to select an orientation, such as Portrait or Landscape for a new

Bleed:
Controls the extra space between the trim line and edge of a document called
bleed. There are also various advance options that you can define in the
Advanced section of the New Document dialog box. You can click the arrow head before the name Advanced to display

Color Mode:
Allows you to select a color mode for a new document from one of the two
color modes: CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black) and RGB (Red, Green, and Blue).

Align New
Objects to Pixel Grid: Sets the new object to have its vertical and horizontal
paths aligned to the pixel grid. Pixel-aligned objects without any vertical or horizontal
segments not modified to align to the pixel grid. For instance, a rotated
rectangle is not nudged to produce crisp paths, when the pixel-aligned property is selected because it
does not have straight vertical or horizontal segments.
